Return to Running with Physical Therapy
Have you been sidelined in your sport or hobby secondary to overuse injuries?
Often times, issues such as hip bursitis, patellofemoral syndrome, runner's knee, IT band issues, shin splints, ankle sprains, and plantar fasciitis are caused secondary to poor training techniques, muscle imbalances, and injury associated with repetitive, strenuous exercise. These issues can occur not only in young athletes, but also to any individual who enjoys running based activities.
With our Return to Run Program, you will receive a comprehensive biomechanical evaluation completed by a licensed physical therapist. The therapist will evaluate your condition through a static and dynamic evaluation, thus creating a plan of care individualized to you.
The emphasis of this program is not only to use physical therapy as a tool to help treat your injury but also to educate patients on how they can prevent issues down the line. Some individuals may benefit from a change in running shoes, orthotics, or ground surfaces. Others may benefit from a specific exercise program to supplement their training when they are able to return to activities.
Jessica Grimm is our Run Program specialist that will work closely with you in order to get you back to running.
If you feel that you or someone you know may benefit from this type of program, please let us help you get back to pain-free running and competing!
